At the Lexington Inn SLO, we know our guests are always looking for fun things to do. Today we want to suggest that you discover Disk Golf on the Central Coast.
You might be asking, “what is disk golf?” The game features 18 holes, but instead of hitting a golf ball toward a tiny hole, you toss a small frisbee disk with the goal of landing it in chain-strung metal baskets. This is a family-friendly sport that literally takes just minutes to learn; yet, to master can take a lifetime!
There are two disk golf courses that we’re aware of on the Central Coast. One is located at Heilman Park in south Atascadero, right off of El Camino Real (use the Santa Barbara exit). The other course is located at Castoro cellars where each tee offers information about the immediate natural environment.
Incidentally, this course is planted in the Whale Rock Vineyard at Castoro. The course at Heilman is free, the course at Castoro is $5 p/person which includes wine tasting! It’s a great way to get the family outdoors and enjoy a little activity. Castoro is located at 1315 North Bethel Road, just off of HWY 46 in Templeton.
Get your game on and get on out there to try your hand at disk golf!
